Kiruna (Sweden)

In January 2025, I found myself immersed in the heart of Kiruna, a small Arctic town where winter transforms the urban landscape into something extraordinary. Here, light is a fleeting gift, a delicate phenomenon that paints the city with ethereal colors. The low, golden sunlight of the polar day barely kisses the rooftops, while the snow-covered streets amplify its glow, creating a soft, otherworldly atmosphere.

As night falls, the magic intensifies. Streetlights cast a warm, muted glow against the icy blue backdrop of the frozen city. Rare stratospheric clouds—pearlescent and surreal—occasionally grace the skies, their shimmering hues adding an unexpected vibrancy to the winter palette. These fleeting moments of light and color bring a unique energy to the city, even in its coldest and darkest season.

Through this photo series, I aim to capture the interplay of light, snow, and urban life in Kiruna—a town where winter transforms the ordinary into something truly poetic. Each image reflects a scene shaped by the Arctic’s unique rhythm, inviting you to experience Kiruna’s quiet beauty through my lens.
